Christmas Party--Sunday Dec. 12th--5pm

Hope you are all having a great week! It was so great getting back together on Tuesday!

Just a reminder, the party is Sunday night at 5pm! Please come with your appetite, and your dish to share! Also, your white elephant gift! Just to clarify, White Elephant does not (necessarily) mean junk. It is usually something you have around your house that you don't use anymore but that someone else might like. One man's trash is another man's treasure! Anyway, you should bring one gift per-person... (so your kiddos should bring one too if they want to participate). Wrap the gift, but don't label it.

Hey guys,

Great study last night. Tim and Elena, we missed you guys!

Here is a reminder about a few things. Next week--FINISH Love and Respect. Please come prepared for the study and also with some comments on what you thought of the study as a whole. We would like to give feedback to church for other groups that might be interested in doing this study!

Second, remember, 2nd Saturday is THIS week, meet at Joy Junction at 7:30. We have ONE extra ticket if anyone needs it. Let me know! Hope to see all you ladies at our house after serving for my Mary Kay party! Sunday, 8:45 service, our little Max is being dedicated. We really would love everyone there to support us! Hope to see you then.

Thirdly, mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec 12th at 5pm. Christmas party/white elephant/potluck.

One last thing. This morning when I was doing my quiet time, the two prayer requests I had from last week fell out of my Bible. One was prayer for Grace and Michael to find a small group. I was about to throw it away (b/c that request has been answered), and I got to thinking that we should SAVE all the requests we have prayed for that have been answered. So please, if you have cards that have been answered, please write the date on the back, and how it was answered, and bring them back. I'll start a box for us to put them in. I think it'll be so awesome to look back in a few months at how faithful God has truly been to our group and to our prayers.

Now, have an AWESOME rest of your week. I have Alfred's friend Brittney on my mind this morning. It was really a blessing to hear about the miracle that God did in her life. THANKS for sharing, Alfred!

Small Group Tues Nov. 9th

Hey All,

We just a reminder we will be doing Session 12, Miles and I have snacks next week, you guys are OFF!!! Only three more Sessions left, two more small groups on this topic. It has truly been a challenging study and even though (some) of us haven't loved how it has been presented, I hope we have all grown from it. See my previous post for the calendar for this month (with some changes).

No baby news from Amber yet. She has been at the hospital almost 12 hours now, they've broken her water but when she got her epidural her contractions almost stopped. So please keep praying for her, that he will come out soon and that they will not have to do a C-section.

First Wednesday service is tonight if anyone is going--it is an awesome time. And remember to pick up your tickets for JOY JUNCTION for 2nd Saturday this weekend!
Thanks for contributing to Pastor Lethgo's gift, we will be getting him a gift card and presenting it this weekend.

Michael and Grace, we are SO glad you joined us, we hope to see you again next week!! Mikey and Michelle and Jason and Sara, we miss you!

Recap of Oct 26th

Hey all, thanks again for a great time last night. God is really blessing our group! Below is a recap of all that we covered as far as "business" goes. Please read carefully!!

Pastor Appreciation

Next week, please bring whatever you feel led to give to honor Chris Lethgo (worship pastor). Once we gather the money we will go out and get him a gift card to somewhere, and I'll have a card for everyone to sign.

Second Saturday

We are committed to going to this as a group. Kids are welcome to come and help too, and I think it would be a great opportunity for the kids as well as the adults. A slight change of plan that I'm sure Todd will mention this week. You have to pick up a "ticket" in order to attend Second Saturday. Tickets will be available the weekend of Nov 6th and 7th. And we as leaders CANNOT pick up tickets for the whole group. You have to get your own. We will find out this weekend if we all can pick up tickets for the same location so we can serve together. Regardless, please note your calendar, pick up your tickets, and plan to attend!

Small Group, Tues. Oct 19th

Hey guys! Hope you all had a great week! Just a few reminders about small group this week. We are getting back into Love & Respect after a much-needed (and delicious!!) break last week. We are on Session 9 in the workbook, chapters 15 and 16 in the book. Including this Tuesday, we have 5 weeks left, so hang in there if you aren't totally loving the study. This has us ending the week of Thanksgiving. We might double up one week because Miles and I will be out of town that week, and it'd be nice to be done before, but we will talk about that on Tuesday.

Also, as we have mentioned, Todd is doing the Heros & Zeros sermon right now, and it has been awesome. We hope you've all had a chance to listen. Look for an email from Miles this weekend or on Monday with one or two questions we will be talking about relating to the series.

Also, according to my sign up sheet, Chris and Anntonette are up for snacks this week. Guys, please let me know if this is a problem!

We will see you all there! OH one more thing. Most of you do this already but if you aren't going to make it to small group on any given day, please text or call one of us just so we know and aren't waiting for you. But you all better come! hahaha.

October 6 Update

Dearest Small Group Members,

Thank you for all for coming last night and opening up the discussion about love and respect! (We missed you, Jason and Sarah.) I know this study has been hard on a lot of people but I can't say I didn't warn you. I hope it hasn't caused any unnecessary strife between you and your significant other. It is essential throughout all of your studies that we concentrate on what God has for us individually in each lesson. It may not be what you want to hear, or written in a way that fits you, or may not seem to apply to you but God uses these things to teach us different things. I think a little break will help us get motivated again and get ready for what could be the toughest part of the book.
As you all know from last night, we will be taking a break from the study to have a social get together where we can just eat and talk. Please bring your kids (except Chris and Anntonette, please don't bring your kids) and your food and get ready for fun. If you ask nicely maybe we will allow people to go "behind the set" and see the rest of the Shiver operation.
For the group study, we will be going over a few questions each week from the group study. I will email those to you weekly so you can think about them and look up associated scripture. We will start in two weeks with these so I will get the first few questions to you soon. The church and your beloved small group leaders STRONGLY recommend that you do the daily journals that go along with the messages. It is especially important because we are not doing the entire small group study. They started on Monday so there will be a little catching up to do (for me too) if you haven't already started them. They are very short, so it shouldn't be too much to ask. Here is the link to week one:

Thank you again for listening to the Holy Spirit and coming to our group. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and appreciate all the work you do every week. Everyone has done great with attendance and homework and we really appreciate it. It makes facilitating conversation much easier when we have all read the same thing. You guys are awesome!
